About Dance Made Simple

Where Character Meets Dance Classes

Dance Made Simple was created to help dance studios intentionally develop confident, capable dancers both inside and outside the classroom. Our workbooks go beyond activities—they spark meaningful conversations, strengthen studio culture, build leadership, and support the social and emotional growth of every dancer.

Rooted in decades of experience in dance education, child development, and classroom teaching, each resource is designed to make character education simple to implement and meaningful for both teachers and students.

Meet Founder Megan Adams

Megan Adams is the founder of Dance Made Simple and Elements Dance Academy. She holds a Master of Arts in Dance Education from the University of Northern Colorado, where she studied under renowned dance educator and author Sandra Cerney Minton, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Minnesota State University Moorhead. With more than 25 years of experience teaching in dance studios, public schools, dance teams, and leadership programs, Megan has dedicated her career to helping students grow both as dancers and as individuals.

Before opening Elements Dance Academy, Megan spent 11 years building a high school dance program from the ground up, growing enrollment from 60 students to more than 230 students. She also coached a nationally competitive dance team for 10 years, earning multiple Exceptional Coach awards and Teacher of the Year recognition. In 2017, she was invited to present at the National Dance Education Organization Conference on the connection between dance and character development.

These experiences shaped Megan's belief that dance education should extend far beyond technique. While strong technical training is important, she believes dance also provides an opportunity to intentionally teach confidence, resilience, leadership, teamwork, and life skills that prepare students for success beyond the studio.

Today, Megan combines her background in dance education, child development, and classroom teaching to create practical resources that help studio owners strengthen their programs and create meaningful experiences for their dancers.

Megan is passionate about equipping educators with tools that are easy to implement, impactful, and rooted in real classroom experience.

The Heart Behind Dance Made Simple

Whole-Child Development

Dance should develop more than technical skills. Our goal is to help students grow as confident, resilient, and capable individuals both inside and outside the studio.

Intentional Character Education

Leadership, communication, responsibility, gratitude, and self-awareness are not left to chance. They are intentionally taught, practiced, and reinforced through meaningful experiences.

Relationship Before Performance

Students thrive when they feel seen, valued, and connected. We prioritize creating positive relationships and studio cultures where dancers feel safe to learn, grow, and be themselves.

Dance Education with Purpose

Every lesson, workbook, discussion, and activity is designed with a purpose and to deepen learning, encourage reflection, build life skills, and create lasting impact beyond dance technique alone.

“Megan is a professional dance educator committed to instilling her love of dance in her students. Megan has spent years researching and implementing effective ways to teach her students not only the technical skills of dance but also how to be a creative, confident and critical thinking dancer. This workbook is an age appropriate example of this work!”
